Job summary

NWU is seeking a student engineer to help evaluate, plan, and design water and wastewater projects, including pipelines and pumping facilities. You will participate in fieldwork, data collection, and system optimization while developing sustainability and resilience plans for utilities and cities.

You will learn to use SharePoint and BIM to improve collaboration and project delivery, communicate findings clearly, and support client meetings. This internship offers exposure to U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Initiative to take on new projects and challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of water, wastewater, and stormwater concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Preferred: prior internship or coursework in water/wastewater or related sectors.
• Preferred: EIT certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects.
• Assess, develop, and support sustainability and resilience projects for utilities and municipalities.
• Conduct fieldwork including site visits, sampling, water quality analyses, and system optimization.
• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and client meetings.
