Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks an intern to support the civil engineering design team. You will assist with general design tasks, surveys, and documentation to gain practical experience in water and wastewater projects.

This full-time student position requires pursuing an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, with opportunities to participate in site visits and multidisciplinary collaboration while learning company standards and procedures.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing an ABET accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering with interest in water and wastewater.
• Intern assists with basic design tasks, research, and documentation to gain practical experience.
• TN visa eligibility only; immigration sponsorship not available otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior or lead engineers with basic design tasks and documentation.
• Prepare drawings and documents for programming, schematic design, modeling, and construction.
• Support creation of presentation and marketing materials.
• Assist with construction phase activities including site visits and RFI responses.
• Learn and apply department standards and best practices.
• Develop basic design, analysis, and technical skills through hands-on experience.
• Collaborate with team members across disciplines.
