Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team in the Daytona Beach, FL office. This is an on-site role with responsibilities spanning design of water systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities, along with project management and client coordination.

The candidate should have a PE license (or be able to obtain within 12 months), strong communication skills, and experience with hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterGEMS,

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering design experience, particularly in water/wastewater projects.
  • P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Municipal engineering experience including pump stations, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling tools (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Manage project tasks, design work, permitting, and construction coordination; guide junior staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver projects successfully.
  • Produce high-quality plan sets and perform quality checks on others' work.
  • Create work plans, monitor budgets, and ensure schedules are met.
  • Attend meetings with clients, government entities, and regulators to address requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Develop professional relationships internally and with external stakeholders.
