Job summary

Kimley-Horn's St. Petersburg, Florida office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of design experience to join our Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This is not a remote position and candidates should be prepared to work on site.

You will design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, manage tasks and budgets, and mentor junior staff while engaging with clients and permitting processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Municipal water/wastewater facilities experience.
• Experience designing electrical/instrumentation & controls for pump stations and treatment plants.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment facilities.
• Design projects for municipal water and wastewater utilities.
• Manage project tasks, design and permitting, construction coordination, and client interaction.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality plan sets.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules; mentor staff.
