Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Fort Collins, CO office seeks a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. The role focuses on design of water systems, pumping stations, and master planning, with client coordination and project leadership.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, perform hydraulic modeling, and help manage budgets and schedules while maintaining quality. A PE license or progression toward one is expected within 12 months.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience designing pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities.
• Experience hydraulic modeling with WaterCADD/WaterGEMS/SewerGEMS/InfoWater.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, and hydraulic modeling.
• Manage project tasks, design, permitting, construction coordination, and mentor less experienced staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure project success.
• Check quality of plans and review others’ work to maintain high standards.
• Create work plans and manage budgets and schedules.
• Attend meetings with clients, government entities, and regulators.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Build internal and external professional relationships and collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors.
