Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal Water/Wastewater Conveyance Engineer in Texas (San Antonio or Austin) to lead a team focused on water and wastewater conveyance design and construction support. The role emphasizes project execution, client development, and expanding technical expertise across the Texas market.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets, coordinate with technical advisors, and help win new projects while maintaining high quality and safety standards. Local travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong technical engineering background in water and wastewater conveyance
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on design and construction
• Experience with client development, proposals, and interview processes

Responsibilities

• Oversee project budgets and delivery schedules, leading project teams to ensure all deliverables are met
• Provide technical leadership throughout planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater systems, lift stations, and pumping stations
• Prepare construction documents, develop specifications, and manage construction oversight and administration
• Support client development activities, positioning and capture strategies, and contributions to proposal and presentation efforts for Water/Wastewater Conveyance Design projects
• Collaborate with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders to define project scopes and fee estimates, manage risks, identify staff, and ensure profitable delivery
• Coordinate with Arcadis’ technical advisors in hydraulic modeling and facility design, and contribute to strategic planning with clients
• Mentor junior engineers and staff, ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, quality, and safety standards
