Job summary

GFT is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Services team across Western PA to oversee medium to large water and wastewater projects. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely coordination among contractors and owners.

As a Construction Inspector you will document daily activities, verify materials, and ensure compliance with plans and specifications. You’ll report findings, support startup activities, and help keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• High school graduate/GED is required.
• 5+ years of experience inspecting water/wastewater facilities, pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a construction inspector on water/wastewater projects under the Construction Manager.
• Tracks and inspects daily activities, measuring completed items and recording them for payment.
• Determines when the project materials and procedures are not in compliance with project plans or specifications. Submit daily diaries or inspection logs detailing all daily activities, labor, and equipment.
• Provide guidance and coordination to contractors and owners during equipment start-up of treatment and pumping station facilities
• Inspect traffic controls and other worksite items for safety and compliance to standards.
• Coordinates with the contractor, owner and general public, as necessary, to facilitate construction operations.
