Job summary

GFT is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Services team in Southern California to inspect medium to large scale Water/Wastewater projects across the region. The role focuses on ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across all construction phases.

The candidate will monitor contractor daily activities, prepare logs, and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain schedules and budgets. A minimum of 5 years’ inspection experience in water/wastewater facilities is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience inspecting water, wastewater, treatment, pipeline, pump stations, and reservoirs.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a construction inspector on water / wastewater projects under the general supervision of the resident engineer.
• Tracks and inspects daily activities of the contractor, measuring completed items of work and recording them for payment.
• Determines when the project materials and procedures are not in compliance with project plans or specifications. Submits daily diaries or inspection logs, detailing all daily activities, labor, and equipment.
• Inspects traffic control and other worksite items for safety and compliance to standards.
• Coordinates with the contractor and general public, as necessary, to facilitate construction operations.
