Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a Capital Project Inspector I to support construction projects on military installations. Under supervision, you will review plans, monitor workmanship, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

The role emphasizes preparing daily reports, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with base personnel. Applicants should have a high school diploma and OSHA-related certifications; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of water distribution and/or wastewater installation or inspection preferred.
• Must obtain entry-level water distribution and wastewater certifications within first year.
• OSHA 30-hour construction qualification at hire or within six months.
• Must complete competent person training within first six months.
• Must read and interpret construction drawings and plans.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are completed per plans, specs, and approved drawings.
• Inspect construction activities for safety and permit compliance.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and SPARs for review.
• Update as-built drawings and document field conditions.
• Identify scope changes and potential cost/schedule impacts.
• Conduct field checks on preliminary plans as needed.
