Job summary

Ogden City is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in the Water Utility to perform skilled construction, maintenance, and related service activities for streets, traffic, and utilities. The role may fill in for crew leaders and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or Crew Leader.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, maintaining pipelines and meters, preparing reports, and ensuring safety on-site.

Qualifications

• Two years of construction or utility experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 150 days.
• Grade IV Water Distribution certificate within six months.
• Complete NIMS IS100, IS200, IS700, and IS800 within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, and maintain pipelines and related components.
• Operate heavy equipment and power tools.
• Direct traffic and ensure safety around work sites.
• Produce computer-generated reports.
• Assist in water mains, hydrants, valves, meters work.
• Respond to public inquiries and resolve complaints.
• Perform snow removal and ice control duties.
