Job summary

Ogden City Government is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in the Public Services department (Water Utility). This role performs skilled construction, maintenance, and service tasks, including water systems, meters, and related equipment.

CDL B and Grade IV Water Distribution certificates are required within set timelines. The position requires operating heavy equipment, ensuring safety, and producing reports, with full-time status and benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of general experience in construction or utility maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any combo of experience and education likely to provide required knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lay, repair, and maintain pipelines and meters; work with SCADA, meters, and related equipment.
• Operate trucks, loaders, backhoe, patch truck, and other tools; perform PM on equipment.
• Install street barricades and direct traffic around work sites; ensure safety.
• Produce computer-generated reports and maintain records.
• Assist in water mains, services, hydrants, valves, detectors, and backflow devices maintenance.
• Check water lines and meters for leaks; replace customer service lines as needed.
• Conduct high water bill inspections and meter vaults maintenance.
• Participate in safety and risk management activities.
