Job summary

Ogden City Economic Development Division seeks a Maintenance Technician I to perform semi-skilled park and facilities maintenance across the Parks Area. Responsibilities include coordinating with plant needs, assisting irrigation repairs, and maintaining beds, turf, and trails while ensuring safety.

The role requires ability to operate tools and equipment, and may include supervision of crew members; a high school diploma is preferred, with training in pesticide use and safety."

Qualifications

• One year of experience in commercial mowing/turf care; flower bed design, installation, and maintenance; building and grounds maintenance; sports turf management; or trails maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; if not, may be considered with equivalent attainment within one year of hire.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions; maintain physical condition for outdoor, manual work.

Responsibilities

• Schedule/coordinate maintenance with plant needs and other activities.
• Assist with irrigation repairs and plant bed/turf maintenance.
• Operate and maintain park facilities and grounds throughout the system; monitor water features.
