Job summary

City of Arlington is seeking a Water Utilities operator to monitor and regulate the city’s treatment processes and distribution network. You will work under supervision to ensure regulatory compliance and meet operating goals.

Responsibilities include system observation, adjustments, lab analyses, data management, and report generation, while maintaining safety and quality across plant processes and customer interactions.

Qualifications

• Two years of general college courses including Math, Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• One year operational experience in water treatment or an equivalent.
• Valid Texas Class C Surface Water Operator license from TCEQ.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the treatment and distribution system, make adjustments to ensure compliance with regulations and operational goals.
• Operate and coordinate the operation of treatment and distribution systems using plant computer systems and manual controls, with safety in mind.
• Maintain instrumentation, databases, treatment optimization programs and prepare regulatory reports.
• Perform administrative duties including training personnel, work order management, and planning plant processes.
• Assist in responses to customer requests and conduct special projects and studies for management.
