Job summary

City of Aurora's Aurora Water is seeking a Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist to lead crews in repairing and maintaining water and wastewater systems. The role includes assisting in plant operations, conducting lab testing, handling chemicals, and maintaining plant security.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of related experience, and a Colorado Water Operator C certification. Occasional snow removal and safety duties are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years related work experience.
• Colorado Water Operator C certification preferred.
• Ability to pass respiratory medical physical.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in repair and maintenance of water and wastewater equipment and facilities.
• Assist with maintenance of plant equipment, structures, and buildings.
• Assist in monitoring plant operations and conduct laboratory tests on water.
• Handle chemical feeders, tanks, pumps, motors, piping systems and valves.
• Mix and load chemicals and maintain plant security.
• Perform janitorial and grounds maintenance as needed.
• Participate in snow removal and standby duties.
