Job summary

City of Aurora Water is seeking a Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist to join the Water Treatment Division. You will participate in repair and maintenance of treatment plant equipment, manage chemical deliveries, learn plant operations, and support snow removal and housekeeping tasks at our facilities.

The role requires passing respiratory medical, handling hazardous chemicals, and may require Hepatitis B vaccination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years’ related work experience required.
• Colorado Water Operator C certification.

Responsibilities

• Leads work crews in repair and maintenance of water, wastewater, reuse equipment, water storage tanks, and treatment facilities.
• Assists with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of water plant equipment, structures, and buildings.
• Assists in monitoring plant operations including laboratory tests on raw and treated water and chemical changes.
• Experience with chemical feeders, tanks, pumps, motors, piping systems, and valves.
• Mixes and loads chemicals.
• Maintains plant security.
