Job summary

The City of Aurora is seeking a Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist to support Aurora Water’s treatment operations and maintenance programs. You will work with treatment plant equipment, chemicals, and laboratory tasks while ensuring safe, compliant processes.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Colorado driver's license, and the ability to pass safety and respiratory clearances. Experience in water/wastewater settings is preferred, with opportunities for professional

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
3 years’ related work experience required.
Water or wastewater treatment experience preferred.
State Issued Driver's license with a good driving history.
Colorado Water Operator C certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead work crews in repair and maintenance of water and wastewater equipment, storage tanks, and treatment facilities.
Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plant equipment, structures, and buildings.
Assist in monitoring plant operations including laboratory tests on raw and treated water.
Handle chemical feeders, tanks, pumps, motors, piping systems, and valves.
Mix and load chemicals and maintain plant security.
Perform janitorial, building, and grounds maintenance and assist with snow removal.
