Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with on-the-job and formal instruction in water treatment plant operations.
• Certification as Grade C Surface Water Treatment is required.
• Valid driver's license for North Carolina is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating the water treatment plant; take samples and perform routine tests.
• Inspect plant and equipment to ensure proper operation at all times.
• Collect samples for testing and perform tests related to plant operations.
• Backwash filters and handle chemical feeder hoppers.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; participate in training for Class II operator certification.
