Union County, NC is seeking an Operator I–IV for the Wastewater Treatment Plant on a Tuesday–Saturday night shift (10pm–6am). The role involves learning plant processes, monitoring equipment, collecting samples, and assisting with routine maintenance under supervision.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain NC Grade I certification within 12 months, plus Grade II within 18 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving history per Union County Vehicle Use Policy.
• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree not required for Operator I.
• Certifications at Grades I–IV biological water pollution control system operator are required or must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsabilités

• Collect, test, and analyze process control samples to ensure proper operation.
• Monitor SCADA workstation data for plant equipment and process conditions.
• Inspect equipment, perform minor maintenance, adjust flows, and document operational data.
• Read O&M manuals, maintain daily logs, and participate in safety checks.
• Assist with startup/shutdown of equipment and support maintenance staff.
