Job summary

City of Aurora is seeking a Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist to support the Water Treatment Division in operating and maintaining plants and related infrastructure.

The role involves repairing equipment, handling chemical deliveries, monitoring plant operations, and performing laboratory tests. Requires a high school diploma, 3 years’ experience, and a valid driver’s license; Colorado Water Operator C certification preferred. Compensation is hourly with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years related work experience.
• Colorado Water Operator C certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads work crews in the repair and maintenance of water, wastewater, reuse equipment, water storage tanks, and treatment facilities.
• Assists with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of water plant equipment, structures, and buildings.
• Assists in monitoring plant operations including lab tests on raw and treated water and chemical changes.
• Uses tools such as hand tools, shovel, jack hammer and power tools; performs confined space entries as assigned.
• Participates in snow removal, safety, and general site housekeeping.
