Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Milledgeville, GA team to service wastewater treatment equipment at customer sites through the region. The role emphasizes on-site operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance with training provided.

The position follows a 4x10 schedule, Monday–Thursday, with an on-call rotation and occasional travel in surrounding Georgia areas. Candidates with plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of technical experience preferred; industrial or commercial process water experience a plus.
• Background in plumbing, HVAC, industrial HVAC, construction, mechanical maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to work independently at a customer site and interact professionally with customers.
• Ability to identify and remedy potential safety concerns.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including the ability to utilize smart devices.
• Ability to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• On-site operation, service, troubleshooting and maintenance of wastewater equipment.
• Support a retired power plant wastewater system; training provided.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites and interact professionally with customers.
• Participate in an on-call rotation; emergencies are rare.
