Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Technical Application Specialist to grow our water treatment business across industrial and municipal markets. You will blend technical testing, fieldwork, and sales support to develop solutions and recommend treatments.

The ideal candidate has a strong water treatment background, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a four-year degree in biology, chemistry, or engineering. Travel up to 50% with a valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• Degree focused in Biology, Chemistry or Engineering preferred.
• Previous sales experience preferred.
• Excellent selling skills and successful sales experience.
• Strong math skills and ability to perform calculations for flow rates.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background/drug screening.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports water treatment sales efforts for industrial, municipal, and metal finishing markets.
• Conducts on-site product testing and selection for water treatment.
• Leads coagulation studies for potable water products.
• Performs wastewater product selection studies for municipal/industrial needs.
• Conducts plant trials and makes treatment recommendations.
• Troubleshoots customer treatment systems and improves performance.
• Assists in training Hawkins Water Treatment Group personnel.
• Assist sales with potable water scale and corrosion treatment recommendations.
