Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. is seeking a Technical Application Specialist to support and grow our water treatment business across industrial and municipal markets.

The role blends technical testing, fieldwork, and sales support, including on-site evaluations, plant trials, and data-driven recommendations for potable and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate has a strong water treatment background, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently while building

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience; biology/chemistry/engineering preferred.
• Previous sales experience preferred; strong selling skills essential.
• Excellent selling skills and proven sales success.
• Strong math skills and ability to perform calculations for flow rates and system performance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present information clearly.
• Strong computer skills; experience with software systems (preferably JDE).
• Clean driving record and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Support water treatment chemical sales efforts for industrial, municipal, and metal finishing markets.
• Conduct on-site product testing and selection for water treatment applications.
• Lead coagulation and permanganate studies and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Perform plant trials for potable water and wastewater applications.
• Troubleshoot customer treatment systems and suggest improvements.
• Assist in training Hawkins staff and in developing new products and applications.
