Job summary

City of Flagstaff is seeking a hands‑on Water Services Technician to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of water and reclaimed water distribution systems. You will operate equipment, locate utilities, map GIS data, and ensure safety on job sites while delivering excellent customer service.

The role involves heavy labor, on‑call availability, and collaboration with the Water Services Supervisor. A valid driver’s license and utility construction experience are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Utilities/underground construction experience preferred.
• Medium to heavy equipment operation experience required.
• Arizona DEQ Grade One license or better preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of construction equipment for water and reclaimed water systems.
• Locate and map underground utilities; consult GIS/mapping data.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Maintain daily logs and reports, using CMMS or similar systems.
• Ensure safety on job sites and coordinate with team members.
