Central States Water Resources is seeking a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician in Flagstaff, AZ. The role involves ensuring safe operation of equipment, performing routine maintenance, and supporting regulatory compliance at the facility.

You will conduct inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs across water and wastewater infrastructure while maintaining logs and coordinating with field teams. A strong safety mindset and reliable vehicle operation are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• OSHA safety training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating large machinery (backhoes, trenchers, large lawn equipment).
• Attention to detail, accuracy in work.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scheduled maintenance at assigned facilities.
• Assess problems and diagnose equipment failures.
• Check the condition of lift stations as needed.
• Pull motors and pumps for maintenance.
• Flush fire hydrants and flush-outs for water quality control.
• Inspect and operate gate valves.
• Locate and mark distribution system facilities.
• Install, relocate, and adjust meter boxes and valve cans.
• Exterior maintenance of grounds and buildings including lawn and landscaping.
• Assist with water and wastewater line repairs and other work as directed.
• Maintain a daily maintenance log for regulatory requirements.
