Qualifications

• High school diploma with vocational training in pipefitting, electrical, or internal combustion engine crafts.
• Two years' experience in pipefitting or maintenance with some pipefitting.
• Able to operate heavy equipment and welding.
• Understanding of water production and distribution methods and systems.
• Competent with handheld meter reading devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the water distribution system, install mains, hydrants, and fittings.
• Record system changes on maps and records.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps and equipment; install service lines and meters.
• Make connection/disconnection turns as per work orders.
• May operate purification or treatment equipment as needed.
• May manage materials inventory and related paperwork.
• Perform other duties including after-hours field service for emergencies.
