The City of Glendale's Water Services Department seeks a Water Services System Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work in Water Distribution, Waste Water Collection or Storm Water divisions. Eligible candidates must have two years of related experience and be capable of operating a range of equipment under safety guidelines.

Qualifikationen

• Two years' experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work and/or in the operation of light, medium, and heavy equipment related to the area of assignment.

Aufgaben

• Performs skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work.
• Operate light to heavy equipment including truck, backhoe, jetter and vacuum truck, and other City equipment.
• Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations pertaining to field work.
• Maintains daily work records; perform computerized data entry work.
• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs water/wastewater facilities and meters.
• Taps water mains and installs services, and water meters.
• Performs water turn off/turn on for scheduled maintenance and emergencies.
• Responds to water usage complaints.
• Excavates job sites and restores sites to pre-work conditions.
• Hydro cleans sewer and storm lines to remove obstacles.
• Operates CDL-required City vehicles.
• Subject to CDL/drug testing and other safety requirements.
