Job summary

City of Compton seeks a qualified supervisor to plan, organize, and oversee crews maintaining the City’s water distribution system. You will ensure safety, schedule work, and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and contractors.

The role requires experience in water distribution, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets and respond to emergencies. This on-site position involves coordinating safety training and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED with related training in water systems.
• Minimum of four years' progressive experience in water distribution maintenance.
• At least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and inspect work on the City's water distribution system, ensuring materials and schedules are coordinated.
• Establish and enforce operating and safety procedures; lead weekly safety meetings and training.
• Coordinate programs such as Underground Service Alert, large meter replacement, and hydrant operations; maintain atlas maps and drawings.
