Job summary

The City of Compton seeks a Street Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the Street Maintenance Division, ensuring proper maintenance of City streets, sidewalks, storm water and sewer systems, and related facilities.

You will supervise skilled craft and labor personnel, coordinate with other departments, and manage budgets, records, and reporting while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; plus five years street maintenance/public works or sewer maintenance experience.
• Two years supervisory experience are required.
• Working knowledge of sewer system operations and maintenance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance of City streets, including concrete/asphalt repairs and storm water systems.
• Schedule maintenance projects and manage crews, contractors, and budgets.
• Enforce safety standards and city policies in all work activities.
• Maintain records, write reports, and coordinate with other departments and agencies.
• Respond to emergencies and oversee vendor services as needed.
