Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform field service at customer sites, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other specialized equipment, depending on the business unit.

You will manage preventative maintenance, parts inventory, and safety issues, with strong problem-solving and the ability to work independently in diverse field environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years technical, mechanical, electrical, diesel, or related field service experience preferred.
• Prior customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, electrical systems, diesel, hydraulics, HVAC, automotive, industrial equipment, pumps, fusion, or related fields is a plus.
• Ability to obtain required customer site clearances (e.g., TWIC, DISA) and a DOT Medical Card if required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment for employees, customers, and contractors.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance on customer- and company-owned equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and other equipment issues as applicable to the business unit.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain accurate service documentation.
• Identify, communicate, and address safety concerns at customer sites.
• Deliver high-quality customer service while serving as a primary field contact.
• Complete service reports and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and ownership in daily work activities.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while maintaining the ability to work independently.
• Support multiple customer locations, systems, and technologies as required.
