Job summary

The New Mexico Municipal League, Incorporated is seeking a seasoned supervisor for the Utilities Department to oversee water distribution operations and maintenance. You will lead a crew, ensure safety and code compliance, and coordinate repairs, installations, and inspections across service lines.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with four years in water distribution, a valid Class A CDL, NM Level III Water Certification, and timely completion of a Traffic Control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus four (4) years of experience in water distribution systems operations.
• A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied per City of Las Cruces policy.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license is required; driving record must meet city policies.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and oversee daily activities of a work crew.
• Inspect and ensure compliance with safety requirements and standards.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to new employees.
• Lead installation, service, and repair of water distribution service and main lines.
• Blue stake water lines, dig meter vaults, conduct pipe locations, and check stub outs.
• Maintain records, reports, and logbooks; act as supervisor when needed.
