Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years in water distribution.
• CDL Class A with tanker endorsement and clean record.
• FDEP Level 2 Water Distribution System Operator license required.
• Level 1 license preferred.
• Backflow tester/repair certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises Water Distribution Worker positions in repair, maintenance, and upgrading of the water system.
• Assists in installation, removal, repair, reading, location, and relocation of meters, lines, and appurtenances.
• Provides technical direction for installation and repair of pipe work and heavy equipment operation.
• Coordinates field work with other city departments and agencies.
• Operates and maintains heavy and light equipment in the Public Works Department.
• Troubleshoots water main and service line leaks.
• Assists contractors and engineering firms on short-notice projects.
