Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Team in Carlsbad, CA! Under supervision, you will assist with basic design tasks including site layout, grading, hydraulics and hydrology, water distribution and storage, and drainage systems.

You will review designs for regulatory compliance, perform site reviews, and contribute to knowledge management by creating technical papers and documentation for projects and potential conference materials.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) 3D/4D software and practices.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and ensure policies are followed.
• Perform site reviews to align designs with location specs and update requirements as needed.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management by drafting white papers and design documentation.
