Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to join our Water Services Team in Carlsbad, CA. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers on a diverse range of municipal, federal, and industrial projects.

As an intern or co‑op, you will research solutions to support analyses, reporting, and design, and help develop documents using ArcGIS, HEC‑RAS, SWMM, CAD, and Excel. Fieldwork opportunities may be available to provide full lifecycle exposure.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled toward a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Interest in water resources engineering and project support.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with a dynamic team of engineers on municipal, federal, and industrial water projects.
• Assist in researching engineering solutions to support analyses, reporting and design.
• Develop documents and presentations using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and Excel; participate in field activities when required.
