Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to join our Water Services Group in Carlsbad, CA. You will support the design and implementation of water and wastewater facilities, sewer systems and pipelines, working under direct supervision to meet client specs and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include site assessments, parameter adjustments and water quality analyses, with opportunities to contribute to technical reports, client meetings and industry conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required (20–40%).
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines and related infrastructure.
• Under direct supervision, ensure designs meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
• Conduct site assessments, adjust design parameters and perform water quality analyses and modeling.
• Contribute to technical report preparation, documentation and client presentations.
• Assist in creating documents using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD and Excel; participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities.
