Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a junior Civil Engineer to join our Water Services team in Albuquerque, NM. Under direct supervision, you will create basic to moderate engineering designs involving site layout, grading, hydraulics and water distribution systems.

You will review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations, ensure policy adherence, and contribute to technical knowledge through papers and conference materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Create basic to moderate engineering designs for site layout, grading, hydraulics, water distribution and drainage, and related structures.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Perform site reviews to align designs with location specifications.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management with white papers and design documentation.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Collaborate to create posters or presentation material for conferences.
