Job summary

Xylem in Chicago is hiring a Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist to support engineering and sales by providing pre- and post-sales technical expertise for complex water infrastructure products.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management, review tender documents, prepare specifications, and help deliver engineered solutions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 0-3+ years of relevant experience; EIT and recent graduates welcome.
• Ability to use consistent business processes to achieve results.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical support during feasibility, design, and tender stages to outside sales, distributors, and consulting engineers.
• Assist Engineering Team with technical and product expertise; research and gather data to meet customer needs.
• Review tender documents with internal colleagues and ensure compliance.
• Provide essential support to the sales team in quotation creation for engineered projects.
• Contribute as a technical consultant in preparing and reviewing project bid packages.
• Provide product and application expertise, design support, and technical drawing assistance for sales inquiries.
• Coordinate with Application Engineers and Sales on documenting technical specifications and plans.
• Ensure timely review of technical submittals and obtain customer approval.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to meet customer requirements.
• Support post-sale activities to understand request scope and provide solutions.
• Assist project managers with technical solutions and training for customers.
• Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.
