Job summary

John H. Carter Company seeks an Outside Sales Engineer specializing in water solutions to drive growth in municipal and industrial markets.

You will identify opportunities, develop technical quotes, and coordinate with service teams to deliver integrated solutions. Based in Baton Rouge, you will travel within the service territory, build long-term customer relationships, and support complex projects from first inquiry through installation, ensuring compliance with TCC standards and safety

Qualifications

• Experience with water & wastewater processes including chemical injection systems, instrumentation, controls, pumps, agitators, pressure vessels and piping systems.
• Demonstrable knowledge in sales, service, and repair of chemical treatment systems and related equipment.
• Minimum 5+ years of outside sales experience in municipal/industrial equipment, preferably water/wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to phone calls, messages, and emails.
• Align sales efforts with business unit goals and strategies.
• Support inside sales, service teams with complex quotes and project coordination.
• Collaborate with other sales resources on corporate initiatives.
• Travel throughout the service territory as required.
