Job summary

Union County Water Department invites applicants for an entry-level Utility Technician I. You will perform maintenance and repair of water and sewer systems, locate lines, flush hydrants, and operate a range of heavy equipment under supervision.

A valid driver's license is required, and within 12 months you must obtain a Class A CDL. A sign-on bonus is available, and the position may include night shifts and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role; basic ability to read and follow maintenance instructions.
• Willingness to operate a variety of heavy equipment and tools.
• Attention to safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Document PMs, work orders, and asset maintenance.
• Locate water/sewer lines and assist with taps, hydrant work, and meter maintenance.
• Support on-call rotations and potential night shifts as needed.
