Job summary

Stafford County, VA is seeking a Water and Sewer Line Worker to install, repair, and maintain potable water and sewer lines and appurtenances under supervision. The role supports line maintenance, tapping, and service connections, with hands-on training and a formal career ladder.

Level I–III provide growth opportunities as experience increases; a CDL is required for Level II, and flagging certification for Level III. All levels require a Virginia commercial driver's license.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of the tools, materials, and equipment used in the installation, replacement, maintenance and repair of utility lines.
  • Ability to operate back hoe and other medium construction equipment.
  • Ability to perform manual and semiskilled labor for extended periods.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines and appurtenances.
  • Operate flushing, cleaning, and line inspection equipment.
  • Make water and sewer taps and service connections.
  • Repair and replace water and sewer lines and related facilities.
  • Install water meters, fire hydrants, and valves.
