Job summary

Western Virginia Water Authority is seeking a Utility Construction Technician I to conduct unskilled and skilled work in maintaining water and sewer lines. Responsibilities include repairs, operating various equipment, and performing general labor tasks. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and the ability to adhere to safety standards.

The role requires physical stamina to handle diverse and strenuous tasks, and the ability to work in various conditions. A valid Virginia driver’s license is necessary, along with the potential to obtain a Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; previous experience preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a good work ethic with emphasis on good attendance.
• Ability to operate equipment required for pipeline repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and construction on water and sewer lines.
• Operate combination sewer cleaner in maintenance operations.
• Service and make minor repairs to equipment.
• Work varied shifts including standby hours.
