Job summary

Western Virginia Water Authority is seeking a skilled Utility Construction Technician IV – CIP / Water CM / SSPM to perform maintenance, repairs, and installation of water and sewer lines. The role includes directing crew personnel, interpreting plans, and ensuring safety compliance on sites.

Must have 2+ years of related experience, a High School diploma or GED, and a valid Class A CDL with air brake/tanker endorsements. Hands‑on tests for backhoe, loader, excavator, and skid steer are required.

Responsibilities

Oversees and directs work of assigned personnel and equipment.
Reviews progress reports and reports to supervisor.
Reads and interprets plans, maps, and technical documents.
Inspects work for safety and quality; ensures conformance to instructions.
Operates backhoe, loader, excavator, bulldozer, skid steer, and related equipment.
Maintains logs and requisitions materials; updates inventory records.
Performs preventive maintenance and inspects equipment for safety.
