Job summary

Arlington County seeks a Water/Sewer/Streets Service Technician to maintain and repair water, sewer, and street infrastructure. You will work on water main maintenance, meter work, sewer construction, and street repairs as part of the WSS crew.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, map reading, tool use, and the ability to obtain a CDL within one year. The county provides comprehensive benefits and requires after-hours on-call and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/equivalent required.
• Ability to learn operating non-commercial vehicles, use hand and power tools, and read maps.
• Must be able to obtain a Virginia CDL within one year of hire date.
• Experience in public works or construction is preferred; CDL may be required for some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Water main, hydrant, and valve repair and maintenance.
• Meter reading, installation, removal, and replacement for residential and commercial properties.
• Sewer construction and maintenance including pipes, catch basins, and sewer structures.
• Sewer video inspections and related equipment setup/operation.
• Perform data entry for work orders and communicate with residents and customers.
