Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a Water and Sewer Maintenance worker to perform field duties such as installing mains and taps, repairing leaks, and maintaining equipment. The role supports public health and operates on a 24/7 call cycle.

This is a Full Time, 40+ hour per week position with eligibility for city benefits. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months.
• Available to work evenings and weekends for emergencies or on-call duty.
• Effective communication skills—oral and written.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general materials and regulations.
• Proficiency with heavy and light equipment and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to internal and external customers and maintain reliable attendance.
• Gather supplies and equipment for job assignments and repair water/sewer leaks.
• Install mains for water and sewer and taps as needed.
• Repair water and sewer leaks and perform on-call duties 24/7.
• Maintain truck and equipment and ensure safety and readiness.
