City of Hendersonville is seeking a skilled Line Maintenance roles in the Water and Sewer Department. The position involves semi-skilled to skilled work in preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of water and sewer lines, meters, hydrants, and ROWs.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, installing taps, maintaining rights-of-way, and performing site restoration. A valid driver’s license and operator certifications are required, with many certifications obtainable within

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred experience in water distribution or wastewater systems repair, maintenance and/or construction.
• Valid driver’s license required at time of hire.
• Must obtain NC water/wastewater operator certifications within 18 months of employment.
• Must obtain NC Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
• CPR, Flagger, and Trenching/Shoring certifications or ability to acquire within 12 months.

Responsabilidades

• Operate mini-excavators, skid steers with attachments, dump trucks, and other equipment for water/sewer line maintenance and repair.
• Operate tapping machines to make water and sewer taps and connections.
• Install and repair water/sewer pipelines, meters, and related appurtenances.
• Perform landscap­ing and surface restoration at job sites.
• Work outside normal hours for emergencies or on-call duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
