The City of Smyrna is seeking a Water & Sewer Maintenance Tech I to perform manual labor and technical duties in supporting the construction, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater lines in Smyrna, TN. The role reports to a Crew Leader and requires safety compliance and on-call availability for emergencies.

Essential duties include digging, valve work, taps, and operation of equipment as skill increases, with opportunities for on-the-job training and advancement through an Apprentice

Qualifications

• Apprentice program participation required prior to advancement.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Tennessee Driver's License; CDL or obtain CDL within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Performs manual labor tasks in construction, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater lines.
• Operates equipment as skill level allows (rock saw, back hoe, trencher, dump truck, bobcat, jet truck, tapping machine, etc.).
• Assists in making water taps and service line installations.
• Assists in repairing wastewater blockages and flushing hydrants.
• Maintains equipment and vehicles; reports faulty equipment to Crew Leader.

Formation

High School diploma or GED

CDL or willing to obtain within 12 months
