Job summary

The City of Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Customer Service Technician to join the Utility Department. Under general supervision, you will work with a crew to inspect and maintain the city’s water and sewer system, perform field assessments, and assist with service connections and disconnections as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid Class C Texas Driver's License; TCEQ licenses should be obtained within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
• TCEQ Class C distribution license should be obtained within 2 years of employment.
• TCEQ Class II wastewater collection license should be obtained within 4 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew in repairing and maintaining the City's water and sewer system.
• Perform field assessments and occasional service connections/disconnections.
• Assist with valve and manhole maintenance.
• Clean and televise sewer lines.
• Recommend methods for solving problems that fall under property owner responsibility.
