Job summary

City of Richmond Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified Utilities Pipeline Technician to install, maintain, and repair sewer and wastewater pipelines in the city. The incumbent will operate a variety of hand tools and equipment and respond to service requests across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
• One year of related experience.
• An equivalent combination of training and experience may be used.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and replaces sewer/wastewater pipes, valves, and other related equipment.
• Drives commercial vehicles to and from job site transporting materials and equipment.
• Stocks truck with necessary supplies and maintains vehicle.
• Corresponds with citizens to explain necessary repairs and hear their concerns.
• Attends and receives necessary training on occasion.
