Job summary

YMCA of Southwestern North Carolina in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure water safety in our aquatics center. You’ll monitor pools, respond to emergencies, perform CPR and first aid, and engage with members to create a safe and welcoming experience.

Must be a strong swimmer with a current lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid. Previous pool experience is preferred. This role offers flexible hours and opportunities to develop leadership and basic instructional skills.

• Certified Lifeguard: Must have current lifeguard certification.
• CPR and First Aid Certified: Knowing how to handle emergencies is key.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers with vigilance and be prepared to dive in if needed.
• Enforce safety rules to ensure a safe environment.
• Perform water rescues and administer CPR/First Aid as required.
• Greet guests and assist with needs to ensure a positive experience by the water.
