YMCA of NorthWest North Carolina is seeking a Lifeguard to oversee aquatic safety, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies across facilities. The role requires vigilant surveillance, excellent communication with members, and proactive safety checks while ensuring water quality and guest services.

The Lifeguard will maintain clean logs, participate in trainings, and help educate guests about pool rules in a friendly, educational manner.

Competenze

• Minimum age 16 for part-time employment; minimum age 18 for full-time employment. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard (or equivalent) with requirement to cross-over to YUSA Guard within 90 days of hire.
• Active certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen. Prior aquatics or customer service experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Maintain continuous surveillance of assigned pool zones and execute immediate emergency rescues.
• Enforce pool rules tactfully and maintain accurate logs of site, Health Department, and safety incidents.
• Perform pre-shift safety hazard checks, complete chemical water testing, and inspect emergency rescue gear.
• Build positive relationships with members and guests through welcoming interactions and policy explanations.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and complete required in-service training.
