Job summary

YMCA of Southern NC is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to protect swimmers and ensure a safe, welcoming aquatics center. You’ll monitor pools, respond to emergencies, enforce rules, and help with basic first aid while providing friendly guest service.

Candidates should hold current lifeguard certification and CPR/First Aid; strong swimming ability and a customer-focused attitude are essential. Training is provided to keep you prepared and confident on the job.

Qualifications

• Certified Lifeguard with current certification.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Strong swimming ability and physical fitness.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor to ensure guest safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers with vigilance and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Enforce safety rules to protect all patrons.
• Administer CPR and first aid when needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and engage with guests.
• Instruct swimming when qualified.
• Record keeping of pool attendance, water quality, and incidents.
